British Columbia Rodeo Association Press Release,
British Columbia's June Rodeo Roundup
The British Columbia Rodeo Association, is well into
one of it's busiest seasons ever.
Next stop on the Tour is Ashcroft & District Stampede June 16 & 17.
The following weekend, June 23 & 24 the cowboys
migrate North to the Peace River Country for the Hudson Hope Rodeo.
If you are looking for unique rodeo experience try The Bella
Coola Ridge Riders Rodeo on the Canada Day weekend June 30 & July 1.
Out where Alexander McKenzie first viewed the Pacific Ocean more
than two hundred years ago, you can enjoy great Rodeo Action,
music by Canadian Country Music Assn. Award winning Band;
The Cruzeros, and some of the finest salmon fishing in the World!
If you make a week of it, on your way back along Hwy 20 you can
catch the legendary Anahim Lake Stampede, July 7 & 8, one
of the wildest and woolliest rodeos in the West.
In July and August there are BCRA rodeos in every region
of the Province including two great little Rodeos on Vancouver
Island and BC's biggest Semi Pro rodeo in Quesnel.
The British Columbia Rodeo Assn. sanctions more than two-dozen
rodeos each year in the Province. We are proud of the job we
do in presenting the sport of rodeo. We work hard to preserve
our Western Heritage and safeguard the welfare of the contestants
and livestock. We have stringent rules in place to prevent any
mistreatment of the animals involved. The rules of rodeo have
been developed in close consultation with the SPCA and other
organizations, and their scrutiny is welcomed at all our events.
Rodeo is part of our ranching heritage, one of our provinces most
popular tourism products and a major economic driving force in rural
communities throughout BC. The BC Rodeo Assn. is a non-profit
society that promotes and sanctions regional and semi professional
rodeos throughout the province.
